Glenn Snyder Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McCulla Funeral Home on Feb. 23, 2026.
Glenn Junior Snyder, 95, died Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Morgantown Heights Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born June 24, 1930, near Masontown, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Mabel Harden Snyder and Glenn B. Snyder.

After graduating from Masontown High School in 1948, Glenn pursued higher education at West Virginia University, where he earned bachelor's and master's degrees in agriculture. While at WVU, he was a member of the 1951 Dairy Judging Team and achieved national honors.

He married his high school sweetheart, Helen Cook, on December 29, 1951, and they shared sixty-six wonderful years together. In 1954, Glenn entered the U.S. Army, serving with the 1st Field Artillery Battalion until 1956 and earning the Good Conduct and Korean Service Medals.

Glenn devoted 30 years to the West Virginia University Extension Service, first in Harrison County and later the state 4-H staff in Morgantown, where he developed and supported 4-H agricultural programs in West Virginia. After retiring in 1987, he owned and operated a lawn care service in the Suncrest community for 19 years.

An active member of Suncrest United Methodist Church and the Suncrest Area Kiwanis Club, Glenn received numerous honors, including induction into the West Virginia Agricultural Hall of Fame and the 4-H Hall of Fame.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Louise Snyder, and siblings Patty Joseph Snyder Messenger and Earl Joe Snyder.

He is survived by his daughter, Diane Casdorph and her husband, Brad; grandchildren, David Casdorph and his wife, Emily, and Amy Pridemore and her husband, Andrew; four great-grandchildren, Owen and Cora Casdorph and Reid and Beckett Pridemore; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may gather at Suncrest United Methodist Church on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m., and Saturday, February 28, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, with full military honors conferred by Westover VFW #9916 and WVANG Military Honors, Camp Dawson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Suncrest United Methodist Church 479 Van Voorhis Road, Morgantown, WV 26505 or the Snyder Family Scholarship (Fund #3Z735 in memory of Glenn Snyder, Jr.) at the WVU Foundation 1 Waterfront Place, Morgantown, WV 26508.
