Ronald “Ron” Ray Walsh, age 64, passed away on September 20, 2025, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born on October 21, 1960, in Lancaster, Wisconsin. Ron spent most of his life in Cassville, WI, before later settling in Horicon, WI. He worked many years in construction and was known for being skilled and resourceful with power tools. Known by many as “8-mile,” Ron’s passion for motorcycles was matched only by the love he had for his family and friends. Whenever he could, he was out on the open road with his bike. Ron was also a natural competitor. He was sharp at darts, tough to beat at pool, and enjoyed playing in a bean bag league for several years. Above all, Ron was a family man. He loved bringing everyone together—whether it was for games, dinner, or sitting around a campfire. He played an active role in the lives of his children and grandchildren, who will forever cherish his presence.
Ron is survived by his son, Joseph (Kallie) Walsh of Bloomington; his daughters, Stacy (Royce) Hatlevig, and Nicole (Steve) Hugunin of Janesville; and his beloved grandchildren, Aiden, Harper, Bentley, Trenton and JJ Walsh, Dominick Hatlevig, Lilly and Sophia Barrier; his sisters, Robin Rouse of Cassville, and Michelle Walsh of Madison; his aunt, Marsha (Chris) Pojar of Cassville; his uncle, Mike (Janel) Walsh of Platteville; his beloved cat, Aspen; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth (Bernard) and Kay Walsh; his uncles, Red, Tobe, and Patrick Walsh; his aunt, Patsy Holden; his brother-in-law Jim Faulkner; and his grandson, Riley Hatlevig.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Route 35 Pub and Pizza in Bloomington, Wisconsin. Burial will take place at a later date with close family and friends. Kramer-Grau Funeral Homes & Crematory in Lancaster entrusted with his care.
