Ronald Waters Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ferreira Funeral Services - Lake City on Sep. 10, 2025.
Ronald Charles Waters, Sr., age 77, of Lake City, Florida passed away on September 3, 2025, at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville. He was born in Lake City, Florida on August 11, 1948, to the late Lewis Waters and Mary Fleming Waters. Ronald spent the majority of his life in Lake City and resided in Miami, Florida for a short season. After attending Hialeah High School, Ronald proudly joined the United States Navy and served his country with great honor. Following his honorable discharge from the military, Ronald had a long successful career as a Barber. He always had an interest in helping others and was able to fulfill his passion as well as give his clients a fresh haircut, clean shave, and a great start to their week. Ronald created many friendships with his customers throughout the years and was thankful to serve his community. He retired from Plaza Barbers and Stylists after several years of dedication and enjoyed his free time with family. More than anything, Ronald loved his family and treasured precious time with them. He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife, Virginia Waters.

Ronald is survived by his children, Jennifer Davis and Ronald Waters, Jr. both of Lake City, FL; brother, Jim (Sandy) Waters; sister, Libby (Garland) Wilkes; grandchildren, Austin (Melissa Rhoades) Davis and Alexis Davis; great grandson, Hayden Miles Davis; along with many extended family and friends.

Ronald's family will celebrate his life privately. Arrangements are under the care and direction of FERREIRA FUNERAL SERVICES, 458 South Marion Avenue, Lake City, FL 32025 (386)752-1234. Just found out about Ron's death. I'm devastated. We were at the veterans home and Ron would bend over backwards to help is fellow veterans and received very little praise while doing it. He will be missed
