Robert Leroy Long

Robert Leroy Long, age 77, of Live Oak, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026. He was born on April 30, 1949, in Ormond Beach, Florida, to the late Frank Leroy Long and Mary Walters Long. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, a service he carried with quiet pride throughout his life. He was a man who appreciated life's simple joys. Robert enjoyed fishing and gold prospecting, always hopeful for the next great find, but nothing meant more to him than time spent with his family. He especially treasured the moments shared with his grandchildren and could often be found enjoying a good cup of coffee while visiting and laughing with those he loved. Robert will be remembered for his warm heart, his steady presence, and the love he gave so freely to his family and friends. The memories he created, the stories he shared, and the love he showed will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Leroy Long and Mary Walters Long, and his brother, Alan Long.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Mary Long; sons, Casey (Kelly) Phelan, Christopher (Shelia) Phelan, James Phelan, and Rob (Erika) Long; daughter, Jennifer (Jeremiah) Johns; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; along with several extended family members and dear friends.
