Ronald Weidmann Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 29, 2024.
Ronald Winton Weidmann passed away on Sunday, March 24th, 2024 at age 79 from natural causes after battling cancer. He was born on July 12th, 1944, in Newport, Rhode Island, to parents Pauline Francis Dorothy Nelson and Frederick William Weidmann. Ronald Weidmann married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Carol Jean Brooks, on November 15th, 1963, in Lubbock, TX.
Ron attended Texas Tech University Business School and used his knowledge to create a lifelong career in the men's fashion and clothing sales industry. Ron fed his family from the proceeds of the legendary polyester leisure suit in the "Stayin' Alive" John Travolta era, transitioning to the birth of beach volleyball attire. He traveled mainly to the towns of the central US and worked on both coasts, selling and collaborating on designs. Picture Ron with a curly "Afro Perm" and open-collar leisure suit cuffs rolled up and adorned with jewelry.
After retiring from the fashion industry, Ron worked and volunteered substantially in the greater Centennial community for 44 years. He was particularly active with the Colorado Fallen Firefighters as a Board member, SEMSWA Board, and Cherry Creek Water Quality Board. Ron served passionately as a Councilman for the City of Centennial for 10 years. As Councilman, he was instrumental in helping to create the Centennial Center Park and advocated for open spaces and parks in the greater Centennial area. Aside from his many accomplishments, Ron was the proudest of his family, sons, grandchildren, and the community he fostered.
In his spare time, Ron proudly expressed himself artistically through harmonica, stained glass, jewelry, and photography. He was an avid painter and collaborated with his brother, Duke Weidmann, on many projects. Ron explored the outdoors through sailing, golf, and dancing with his love, Carol Weidmann.
Ron Weidmann, a lifelong jokester and professional button-pusher, brought unbridled joy to those around him. He battled cancer as he battled life with art, levity, and laughter. His healthcare team frequently commented on his limitless positivity. His family remembers him with endless love and jokes. Gifts and donations can be made to the Colorado Fallen Firefighters in memory of Ron. The celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
Ron is survived by his wife, Carol Weidmann, and two sons, Dean and his wife, Kari Weidmann, Patrick and his wife, Jode Weidmann. Brothers Frederick and his wife, Cheryl Weidmann, and Eric and his wife, Kim Weidmann and beloved sister-in-law Monica Weidmann. His grandsons Justin, Austin, Cameron, and only granddaughter Logan and his many nieces and nephews. Ron was pre-deceased in death by his brother, Duke Weidmann.
