I had the pleasure to work with Ron when we both worked at Diversey many years ago. Ron would take the time to teach you if you did not understand where others would just walk away. Seeing the picture of Ron, Dave and Deacon Chris was great. Ron, you will be missed brother - See you on the other side!!

My deepest sympathies to Ron's family. I was informed of his passing from his and my former leader at Diversey many many years ago, Neil Prewitt. I ran into Ron a few years ago at an Elvis impersonator dinner show at the Red Fawn in Allen Park. We had a nice chat reminiscing about our past work lives and what was going on in our lives. The main thing I remember about Ron was his work ethic and his quiet sense of humor. As I read the other messages in the Guestbook, it was plain to see that Ron is leaving quite a legacy.

Was fortunate to know Ron for 20 plus years through work. I have never met a more unassuming or humble person than Ron. He played a major role in Diversey's sucess over the years and for that I am grateful. Will miss working with Ron! My heart goes out to his family and friends. A real loss for us all. RIP Ron!

Ron and I work together for over 30 years. I never saw a person that could just walk into a Dairy plant and be able to draw the whole process flow. Ron was one of a kind. He will never be replace. I enjoyed are visit when he came down to Texas and I would do my best to find a great mexican food place to eat since I knew he did enjoy good mexican food. You will truly be missed. RIP my friend

My most heartfelt condolences to all in the Whitaker family. I was blessed to know Ron for over thirty five years, first as a colleague at Wyandotte Chemical and then as a dear friend. Ron was a truly remarkable man. Caring, kind hearted and generous, a loving father, husband and grandfather. He always had a warm smile on his face for friends and acquaintances alike. There was never a down day when you were with Ron. In fact, if you were not laughing uproariously at some point, you were not enjoying the full Ron experience. Ron loved his job and he was a true master at his craft. In all of my years working in the chemical business I have never met anyone with the unique set of skills Ron possessed. Our clients were always impressed with the quality of his work. In fact, everyone who saw his work was amazed at his incredible skill set. They say the measure of a person is what people say about them when they pass. By this standard, Ron, a very humble man, was held in the highest esteem by all those that crossed his path. Anyone who had the good fortune to meet and know Ron will say how much he will be missed and what delight and joy Ron brought to those he touched. Rest in peace my friend.

I'm going to miss Ron. When I lived in Michigan he and I would go to movies from time to time and I loved his company as a friend. Ron had pool opening and closing parties at his house and me and several of his close work colleagues would go over on a sunny day, talk about everything from family to work, and just enjoy each other's company.. Good times!
Ron was at many of our company trade showed and it always amazed me that when he got into conversations with customers on technical level how much knowledge he had at his finger tips and was truly the "expert in the room".
From time to time we would have meetings at Mexican Gardens (one of our favorite restaurants to go to when we had our home office in Michigan) and many ex Diversey as well as current employees joined in to talk about the business and how things would be different if we were running things. Sometimes I would draw something on a napkin while we were eating, something I was working on at one of my accounts when I was a sales re. He would take that extremely rough sketch, go back to his computer, work his magic on AutoCAD, and render a drawing that was a thing of beauty. He truly possessed a skill, combined with his knowledge of our business that made all of our jobs so much easier.
I will miss his friendship, his humility, and his tireless work ethic. He leaves behind a legacy that will be impossible to duplicate.
I wish I had the words to comfort Ron's family but I hope they find comfort knowing that Ron had a profound impact on everyone that knew him. We all admired him for who he was. Ron was plain and simple a good man.
Rest in peace my friend.

Ron and I played together, matured together and seemed to be brothers. I loved having him as my double cousin. In later years when Carol and I drove or flew into Michigan, we would visit his house, go to restaurants and enjoy being with him. Ron was one of my favorite people along with Aunt Hazel and Uncle Will. I am very sad and will miss Ron. We all will miss Ron Whitaker.

Although Ron referred to me as his boss, it was his knowledge and mentorship that guided me through challenges I faced every day. We talked daily. He would call me while I was on vacation and would ask me why I answered, my reply, because it was you who called. I will miss those calls. Thank God I still have some of his messages on my voice mail. I know he knew how much he meant to me, but I never got tired of letting him know.

I am so grateful that Don and I were able to visit Michigan and spend some time with my first cousin, Ron and his family last month. We grew up together, but did not get to spend a lot of time together because I moved to Kentucky when I was 19. Don and I try to keep in touch with everyone in the family by going to Michigan yearly. Family is very important to me. I love each and everyone of you. Ron will be missed so much.

My heart goes out to his children, family as well to all the people that had the privilege to know Ron and the honor to call him friend. I have known Ron on a personal level and have worked with him for 26 plus years. We always talked about we were the old timers and some day we would be the mentors taking over for the generation before us. I have spent many nights in manufacturing plants with Ron working around the clock with no sleep except us having coffee and cigarettes.
There are not many people on this earth that can stand up to him as a person. Ron had a big heart, cared for people within his company and his customers. He was smart, willing to teach anybody that would listen, he was funny and cared deeply for his family. We had many conversation regarding family as to fathers.
Ron has taught me many things through the years, he is my friend, mentor and sometimes has provided personal guidance in my life.
People will never forget him as he is one of a kind. He will continue in our hearts and always in our minds.
Ron my you now rest in peace after all you sacrifices and years, and as you told me we are not living life, we are life.

I've known Ron since I was little. I remember going over to his house during the summer for pool parties with Michele. It was such a blessing when I was given the opportunity to come to work for Diversey and being able to work with Ron on a regular basis. I will miss his near-immediate responses when I'd send an engineering log reminder. I'll miss him asking me what's good to eat at a restaurant he's never been to when we're at a work dinner. I'll miss him calling me with questions when Dad (Dave Zoochi) is on vacation because he doesn't want to inconvenience him. Ron's legacy will be remembered by so many people who love him and by the Zoochis forever.
