Ronnie “Whitey” Eugene Crews, 72, of Folkston, GA passed away at his home on Sunday, October 6, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in Folkston, GA on September 3, 1952, to the late Owen Crews and Joyce Johnson Crews. Ronnie was a heavy equipment operator and did site prep for over 30 years for St. Regis, Union Camp, International Paper Company. He then worked for the following Timber Companies: John T. Lee Logging Company, Taylor Timber, and Sandbed Operations. He loved hunting, being outdoors, football games, baseball and softball. He coached rec softball and played on a men’s team. Most of all, Ronnie loved his family, grandchildren and his beloved wife of 45 years. He was a member of Camp Pinckney Baptist Church and Charlton County Saddle Club.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 2-brothers: Richard Crews and Kevin Crews; and a sister: Marie Johnson.

Ronnie is survived by his wife: Robin Crews of Folkston, GA; daughter: Kayse Reese of Atlanta, GA; son: Dustin “Dusty” Crews of Folkston, GA; granddaughters: Whitney Bailey of Atlanta, GA, Mara Crews of Atlanta, GA, Olivia Reese of Enterprise, AL; grandsons: Payton Reese of Enterprise, AL, and Carson Woolard of Folkston, GA; siblings: Effie Walker, Lori Nettles, Judy Crews and Mike Crews all of Folkston, GA, and Frank Crews of Bryceville, FL; mother-in-law: Nell Lang; also numerous nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Camp Pinckney Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Pinckney Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Gentiva Hospice Memorial Fund or to Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home for Ronnie Crews.
