Ronnie Franklin Duncan, aged 80, of Frankford, WV, has been called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. His passing occurred at the CAMC Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, ending his earthly journey and beginning a new one in the heavenly realm. Ronnie was born on December 13, 1944, in Mt. Vernon, GA, to his cherished parents, John D. and Sophie Molly Adams Duncan.
Ronnie's professional life was marked by dedication and hard work. He retired as Superintendent of Industries from FCI Beckley, where he earned respect and admiration for his contributions to the institution. His retirement did not mark an end to his industrious nature; rather, it provided him with more time to indulge in his passions. Ronnie had a deep love for playing the guitar, a talent that brought joy to many gatherings. Additionally, he found solace and satisfaction in woodworking and restoring antique cars.
Above all, Ronnie's heart belonged to his family. His love for them was the most important aspect of his life. He often spoke of how his family was his greatest treasure, and his actions consistently reflected this affection.
In addition to his beloved parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce Ann Bennett Duncan, whose memory he cherished deeply. He also mourned the loss of his siblings, J.D., Leonard, Raybon, Alton, and Randall Duncan, as well as Carolyn Jordan (Johnny) and Frances West-Deputy (Mike), and brother-in-law, Homer Powell.
Ronnie leaves behind a resilient and loving family. His children, Shannon Walton (Dave), Mandi Hancock (Chuck), and Josh Duncan (Christy), each carry a piece of his legacy. His siblings, William Duncan (Phyllis) and Kathy Powell, continue to honor the family's traditions and memories. Ronnie's grandchildren-Michael Cochran, Nathan Seldomridge, Morgan Walton (Aidan Sullivan), Ashlee Seldomridge, Alex, Riley, and Collin Duncan-will forever be inspired by his love and guidance. His great-grandchild, Harlow Sullivan, although just beginning his journey, will grow up with stories of Pawpaw's profound impact on the family. Additionally, Ronnie's many nieces and nephews will continue to celebrate his life through countless shared memories and family traditions.
A visitation to honor Ronnie's life will be held from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel in Lewisburg, WV. This gathering will provide an opportunity for friends and family to come together, share their memories, and find comfort in one another. Following the visitation, a private funeral service will be held for the family, respecting Ronnie's wishes. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens, a place of eternal peace and reunion.
For those who wish to leave their condolences or share their memories, an online guestbook is available at www.morganfh.net. The Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg, WV, is entrusted with the arrangements.
