Ronnie Ray Freeze, 78, passed away at his home in Altus on Sunday, November 19, 2023. Memorial Services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the Emmanual Baptist Church with Brother Brent Logan officiating. Cremation services are under the care of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Ronnie was born on March 6, 1945, in Hollis, Oklahoma to Walter and Virginia (Chambers) Freeze. He graduated with the Class of 1963 from Cordell High School. In August of that same year, he and Jerene Johnson were united in marriage. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in August of 2023. Ronnie was a woodworker by trade. He established Freeze Cabinet Shop and had a successful business in SW Oklahoma for over 40 years. After his retirement from cabinet making, he began driving the activities bus for the Altus Bulldogs until his health started declining.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Virginia; son, Gary Freeze; grandson, Justin Freeze; two brothers, Lee and Wendell; and two sisters, Peggy and Patsy. Those left to honor Ronnie’s memory are his devoted wife, Jerene; daughter, Kristy Gamez and husband, Danny; daughter-in-law, Debbie Freeze; six grandsons, Brandon Freeze and wife, Kassy, Tyler Gamez, Joshua Gamez and wife, Chloe, Seth Gamez, Jakob Gamez, and Aidan Gamez; three great grandchildren, Bray Stephens, Roper Sullivan, and Frankie Grace Freeze; a brother, Ed Freeze and wife, Carolyn; and many nieces and nephews.
