Ronnie Jay Green, 72, of Bessemer City, NC, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023. Born in Kings Mountain, NC, he was the son of the late James J. Green and Mildred C. Honeycutt.
Ronnie attended Bessemer City High School and then enrolled in the Army serving in the Vietnam War. If you ever saw him out and about, he was most likely, proudly, wearing his Vietnam Vet hat. He worked in a variety of industries and was fond of franchise sales, truck driving and logistics management. He also created Green's Lawn Care, a business that serviced much of York County including their school system and other government contracts. Ronnie was an avid golfer, lover of all things, bluegrass music, Harley-Davidson motorcycles and a wide variety of classic cars.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Wanda; his sons, Ronnie (wife, Gina) and Chris Greene; and daughter Metta Greiner (husband, Michael); eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Patsy Carson (husband, Rev. Keith) and Sandra Phelps (husband, Buddy).
He was preceded in death by his brother James Greene: and sons, Russ Edenfield and Shane Greene.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 5th, 2023, at Ranlo Freewill Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Keith Carson. Visitation will be 1:00 - 1:45 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the church or the American Kidney Foundation. Download funeral program
