Ronny Rowland Rhoades Sr.

Ronny Rowland Rhoades Sr. was born on September 14th, 1947, in Healdsburg, CA. He was the first child of Riley and Wanda Rhoades. Ron had two sisters, Linda and Debbie. He grew up in Mill Valley and graduated from Tamalpais High School in 1965. He met the love of his life, Frances Low, while shopping at Red Cart Market and married her in Reno, Nevada, in 1967. Together, they lived in San Rafael and had two sons, Ronny Jr and Matthew. Ron worked his entire life as a San Francisco Police Officer, starting as an officer and advancing to Lieutenant, until his retirement in 1999.
Since his youth, Ron loved baseball. His favorite team was his beloved SF Giants, and he would spend every summer afternoon watching them play on TV, listening to them on KNBR, or attending a game at Candlestick Park. He loved spending his retirement watching his grandkids play baseball.
With Frances by his side, Ron also enjoyed traveling to places across North America and visiting various locales in Europe, China, and Africa. His favorite trips were canoeing in Canada and going on a Safari in Africa. Ron was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Ron Rhoades passed away on Sunday, September 28th, 2025, in San Francisco. He is survived by his sisters, Linda and Debbie, his two children, Ronny Jr and Matthew, his daughter-in-law Anela, his grandkids Riley and Peyton, and his mother-in-law Fong. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances, his father, Riley, and his mother, Wanda.
Services are entrusted to Valley Memorial Park and will be held October 22, 2025, at 1:00 pm. at the Valley Memorial Park Chapel, 650 Bugeia Lane, Novato, CA. All are welcome.
