Visitation will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., with a prayer service and time of sharing starting at 3:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Aberdeen.
Rory was born on November 14, 2023, to Blaine and Allison (Meintsma) Snyder at the Methodist Women’s Hospital in Omaha, NE. Shortly after his birth, Rory was transferred to Omaha Children’s Hospital where he had a two-week NICU stay. Rory had a total of three hospital stays in his almost five months of life, which included two cath procedures and an open-heart surgery.
Rory was the light of every room he was in from Omaha to Aberdeen. His glowing smile and easy-going attitude were the first things people noticed about him. Rory, like most babies, enjoyed feeding time and keeping his parents on their toes, only to make everything ok again when he grinned in their direction. He loved being held by anyone who would sit him up so he could keep an eye on what was going on in the room.
Rory is survived by his loving parents: Blaine and Allison (Meintsma) Snyder; paternal grandparents: Clint and Julie (Harvey) Gregg; maternal grandparents: Eric and Julie (Breitbach) Meintsma; uncle and aunt: Josh and Shelby (Snyder) Meintsma; uncle, Mathew Meintsma; and cousins: Spencer and Sutton Meintsma, and Leo, Vivian, and Elliott Meintsma; maternal great- grandparents: David and Kay Breitbach, and Betty Meintsma; paternal great-grandpa, Virgil Harvey; and a host of others who loved Rory very much.
Rory was preceded in death by maternal great-grandpa, Warren Meintsma; paternal great-grandma, Janet Clark; and great-great-grandma, Grace Jensen-Wise (Rory’s middle namesake).
Rory’s story is one of bravery, perseverance, and strength. He wouldn’t let anything hold him back. His time on earth was brief, but he was so loved by his parents, family, and friends.
Rory's family requests memorials be made to Carolyn Scott Rainbow House in Omaha, NE.View All Photos
