Rosa Butler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Howard K. Hill Funeral Services - Hartford on Dec. 23, 2025.
Mrs. Rosa Pearl Butler, 84, was called home on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Waterbury Hospital. She was born in Tuskegee, Alabama on February 21, 1941 to the late Jimmy Stinson and Alice Wilson Stinson. Rosa was educated in the Tuskegee school system. She later moved to Waterbury, Connecticut in the late 1950's.
Rosa worked at Timex, then was later employed at Airpax until she retired. She was a lifelong member of Mount Olive AME Zion church for over 50 years. She attended the Senior Center and was on the church Missionary Board and Usher Board.
Rosa always opened up her home to welcome everyone and loved to provide home cooked meals. Cooking was her favorite thing to do, besides watching the cooking channel and her western movies. Rosa was loved by many and had a smile that lit up the room.
Rosa was predeceased by her late husband, Roosevelt "Rudy" Butler; and her two sons, Roosevelt Butler, Jr. and Kenneth "Scooter" Butler. She leaves to cherish her memory, five daughters, Patricia Butler (Junior Christie) of Waterbury, CT, Terry Reis (Bret Reis) of Southington, CT, Teresa Butler of Waterbury, CT, Nancy Butler of Waterbury, CT, and Felicia Clark (Kevin Clark) of Waterbury, CT; two sons, Charles Butler of Waterbury, CT and Tracy Butler of Waterbury, CT; two sisters, Emma Martin of Bronx, NY and Virginia Barnes of Snellville, GA; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
