Rosa Estrada Johnson was born on May 28, 1953, in
Weslaco, Texas, and was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 15, 2025, at 3:31 p.m. After a long and courageous battle here on this earth, God gently welcomed her home. She is now free from pain, free from suffering, and resting peacefully in Heaven. Rosa was the strongest and toughest woman her family has ever known. She was a fighter in every sense of the word, yet her heart was gentle, loving, and devoted completely to her family. Her life revolved around her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. In 1971, Rosa met the love of her life, and on March 10, 1972, they were united in marriage. Together they shared 53 years of love, commitment, and partnership, building a life centered on faith, family, and devotion to one another. Family meant everything to Rosa. She treasured time with her brothers and sisters and deeply loved her many nieces and nephews. Her laughter was infectious, her spirit unforgettable, and there was never a dull moment when she was around. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome and loved. A hardworking woman throughout her life, Rosa held many jobs and worked for AT&T for several years. Still, the roles she cherished most were being a mother and grandmother-titles she wore with the greatest pride. Holidays were Rosa's favorite, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. She loved having everyone together under one roof, celebrating and making memories. One of her most cherished traditions was dressing up with her husband as Santa and Mrs. Claus, bringing joy to the babies year after year. Rosa loved fishing and camping, always bringing her "babies" along. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband and visiting family in South Texas. She lived a full life-rich with love, laughter, joy, and unforgettable memories. Everyone who knew Rosa loved her. She was kind, joyful, welcoming, and truly one of the best people you could ever meet. She is survived by her siblings: Jose Estrada and his wife Maria; Maria Flores; Frank Estrada and his wife Yolanda; David Estrada and his wife Irma; Gracie Zentec ; and Connie Rojas . She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She leaves behind her beloved children: Melissa and David Segers, and Sonya and Donnie Tidwell. Her grandchildren, Ariel Wise and husband, Joe Wise, Gabriel Prudhomme and husband, JW Prudhomme, Alex Fincher, Grace Rhodes and Collin Rhodes, Donnie Tidwell Jr., Keilan Tidwell, Ethan Segers, Jared Segers, Brandon Segers, Hannah Segers; Great-grandchildren, Ava Smith, Hynslee Gage, KK Wise, Jordan Wise, Logan Wise, Addyson Prudhomme, Kimber Prudhomme, Demi Cole Prudhomme, Aleigha & Weston Tidwell. She was also joyfully awaiting the arrival of great-grandbabies, Baby Rhodes and Baby Fincher. She is preceded in death by her Grandparents, Dionysius and Cantila Estrada and Estanislado and Anita Rodriguez, and her parents, Agapito & Maria Estrada. Rosa's love continues to live within each of us every day. Though our hearts are broken, we find peace knowing she is now with her Heavenly Father, healed and whole, watching over us until we meet again. Graveside will be at 3:00 p.m. at Rosewood Garden Cemetery in
Longview, Texas. Rosa Estrada Johnson (The PYT) will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered. Pallbearers will be Donnie Tidwell, David Segers, Alex Fincher, Keilan Tidwell, Donnie Tidwell Jr. and JW Prudhomme.
