Rosa (Rose) Villarreal Ramos, 80, passed away February 17, 2026, in Lubbock, TX. She was born April 3, 1945, to Tomas and Santos (Cano) Villarreal, in Robstown, TX. She was the eldest of 9 children.
Rosa graduated from Petersburg High School. She married Joe Ramos, and to this union, they were blessed with 3 children, Sophia, Sonia, and Joe Jr. Rosa and Joe Sr. were married for 52 years.
Rosa was an Administrative Assistant at Lubbock Independent School District for many years. Rose enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, cooking, and loving her family. Most of all, Rose was a Christian at heart and of the Jehovah’s Witness faith.
There was nothing she couldn’t fix. Rosa saw potential in everything and everyone. When she wasn’t spoiling her grandchildren, she could be found cooking for loved ones, working in her garden, or in her sewing room, working on a new project.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Ramos Sr., a daughter, Sophia Alma Huerta, her parents, Tomas and Santos Villarreal, and a brother, Miguel Angel Villareal. Those remaining to carry on her legacy and memories are, a son, Joe Ramos, Jr., a daughter, Sonia Angelita Aleman; her grandchildren, Valerie Marie Mestanza, Marissa Danielle Torres, Joshua Aleman, Jacob Huerta, and Jordan Carrillo; and 5 great grandchildren.
Rosa will be missed, dearly. We are thankful for the boundless love she shared, without expectation. Our enduring love will never fade, and her loss will be felt every day.
