Rosa D. Smith

Rosa D. (Silver) Smith, 95, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She had just celebrated her 95th birthday.

Born on February 6, 1931, in Argentia, Newfoundland, Rosa was the daughter of the late Antonio and Mary (Slaney) Silver. She was raised in Newfoundland, a place she always considered her true home and held close to her heart throughout her life.

Rosa was an avid sewer and crocheter, talents she shared generously with family and friends. She also adored dancing and, in her later years, especially enjoyed trips to the casino-lovingly referred to as her "runaways." Her joy for life, sense of humor, and love for her family were constants that will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, Rosa was predeceased by her siblings and one grandchild.

She is survived by her beloved children: Lyle Smith and his wife, Freda Long, of Dover, NH; Rosemary Smith Wright of Rochester; Gloria Smith Wilson of Berwick; Raymond Smith of Somersworth; Roland Smith of North Berwick; and Melinda Smith Hill and her partner, Alan Williams, of Newfields, NH. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren, all of whom cherished her deeply.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Avenue, Dover, NH 03820. A Funeral Mass will follow immediately at 1:00 PM at St. Mary Church, 25 Chestnut Street, Dover, NH.
