Suzanne Bicknell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J.S. Pelkey and Son Funeral Home on Feb. 4, 2026.
Suzanne Bicknell – October 18, 1926, to January 30, 2026

Suzanne (Curtiss) Bicknell died peacefully at 99 and is survived by her three children, Nancy (Robin Shore) Larkin, Bruce (Cindy) Bicknell, and Ben (Sue) Bicknell, eight grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was married to her late husband, Richard, for 77 years, residing in Eliot, Maine, for more than 25 years, until their recent residence in Dover, New Hampshire.

Suzanne was the eldest of four children, growing up on the family poultry farm near Niagara Falls, New York, which may account for her grit, organization, energy, and strength of will. These attributes were put to the test, ensuring a stable, thriving home life for her three children while supporting her husband's very successful business career that required moving across the U.S. almost every three years. She masterfully managed a full and adventuresome family life for all, traveling, camping, hiking, sailing, and skiing, which she and her husband continued through their retirement. Although naturally reserved, Suzanne would embrace every new community, volunteering at the hospital, joining the garden and women's organizations, and cheerfully beating everyone at the bridge club. Suzanne showcased her innate artistic abilities as a superb, creative seamstress. She was a voracious reader, a keen intellect with a razor-sharp wit, but underneath the zeal and determination, she was the most kind and generous of souls. Everyone knew it and loved her for it. She bloomed as a grandmother. Nothing gave her more pleasure than to enjoy and spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always having "a little something for you" when visiting. Suzanne will forever be in our hearts.
