Shea Feeley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J.S. Pelkey and Son Funeral Home on Feb. 5, 2026.
Shea Nora Feeley, 20, died peacefully in her home on February 4, 2026. Born June 16, 2005 in Lebanon, New Hampshire, Shea is survived by her parents Ryan and Christine (Messier) Feeley of Berwick, Maine; her brothers, Nolan of Boulder, Colorado and Cormac of Minneapolis, Minnesota; her paternal grandparents, Gerald and Marcia Feeley of Naples, Florida; and her maternal grandmother, Eileen Messier of Eliot, Maine. Shea was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Donald Messier.

Known for her beautiful smile, Shea carried a spark and an undeniable love of life from her earliest days. Shea was an avid musician, artist, and actor, diving into every opportunity to sing, play violin, viola, and piano, and act in plays and musicals. Shea also enjoyed swimming with Seacoast Swimming Association, running cross country at Berwick Academy, and participating in local youth track programs. A true animal lover, Shea adored her family dog, Bella, and was known as a dedicated panda enthusiast.

At age 12, Shea's life took a dramatic turn when she was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor. That summer she underwent treatment at Boston Children's Hospital and Dana-Farber. Shea met the adversity head on with courage, optimism, and strength, and after several brain surgeries, aggressive radiation treatment, and chemotherapy, she ultimately defeated cancer.

Unfortunately, the long term side effects of her treatment significantly impacted the next eight and a half years of her life. Despite being hampered with epilepsy, hearing loss, mobility issues, and a number of other challenges, Shea's optimism and hope never wavered. She continued to share her positive energy and spirit with the world, inspiring others by conquering climbing walls, participating in the New England Disabled Skiing program, and raising thousands of dollars for the very organizations that had supported her through the years, including the Maine Children's Cancer Program, Camp Sunshine, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Undeterred by her health issues, Shea graduated from Noble High School in 2024. She also proudly worked for five summers as a member of the team at the Scoop Deck in Wells, Maine. Shea brought so much light to her family and friends, and her story has been an inspiration to thousands around the world. She will forever remain in our hearts and in our minds, and her legacy of kindness and hope will carry on in all of us.

Shea's family will receive friends on Friday, February 20 from 4:00-6:00 PM at JS Pelkey & Son Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, Maine 03904. A memorial service for Shea will be held Saturday, February 21, at 11AM, at the First Congregational Church of Eliot, 1361 State Road, Eliot, Maine 03903. A reception will follow at The Commons Dining Hall on the campus of Berwick Academy, 31 Academy Street, South Berwick, Maine 03908.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Camp Sunshine in Shea's honor. https://www.campsunshine.org/donate-today

Yesterday

Dear Ryan, Christine and family,

We are so sorry to hear. I remember meeting your daughter briefly at one of Ryan's band performances in Newburyport, and she looked quite happy and was spending time with Christine watching the show. She looked to be loving the moment and a little bit proud, too, seeing her Dad perform. Our daughter, Jessi, spoke fondly of her often and very much enjoyed teaching her. Though we too feel your loss, we are heartened to read all the wonderful things your sweet daughter was able to accomplish and enjoy during her lifetime. We will keep you all in our prayers. All our love, the RigordaEva family.
