Rosalee Shanklin Obituary
Rosalee M. Shanklin, 88, of Eureka passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 12:26 p.m. at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
She was born on May 17, 1937 in Streator, IL to Emmett and Catherine Mertes Cave, Sr. She married Willard on September 7, 1958 in Streator, IL. He passed away on November 2012.
Survivors include her children, Sharon (Willy) Perkins of Jefferson City, MO; Richard (Vicki) Shanklin of Toluca; two sisters, Peggy Marshall of Streator; Delores Christ of Oklahoma; two brothers, George (Bunny) Cave of Streator; Virgil (Janice) Cave of Rutland; two grandchildren, Jacque Brewer; Tim (Desteny) Brewer; step-grandson, Jabin Cunningham.
She was preceded in death her parents, four brothers, one sister.
Rosalee worked as a bailiff at the Woodford County Courthouse. She was also property assessor for Olio Township Cemetery.
She enjoyed gardening, flowering, machine quilting, sewing and reading.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from Noon to 2 p.m. at Countryside Banquet and Catering in Washington. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is handling arrangements for the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, Alzheimer's Association and OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.argoruestmanharris.com.

Sharon & family - our deepest sympathies to you and your family. You know Sharon how special your mom was to me. What a sweet and loving lady who was so kind. So many memories of our time at the farm either you and I on a quick Friday night home or the yearly gathering with our group of friends. Your mom ALWAYS the gracious hostess.
