It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosalie Dicken, who left us peacefully on 6/8/25 at the age of 85. A devoted mother, beloved caregiver, spirited friend, and unforgettable personality, she filled our lives with laughter, warmth, and just the right amount of sass. Family was the center of her world-whether by blood, bond, or babysitting. For years, she poured her heart into caring for her daycare kids as if they were her own and loved supporting and being a part of her daughter's "basketball family," who all held a special place in her heart. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, where she was always ready to shuffle a deck of cards and deal out a fierce game (and maybe a little smack talk, too). A true character, she had a sharp wit and a sarcasm that could make you laugh even on your worst day. Her sense of humor was as bold as her spirit, and she had a flirtatious twinkle in her eye that never quite dimmed. Stubborn? Absolutely-but in the way that meant you always knew where she stood, and that she would fight fiercely for the people she loved. She found joy in the simple things-getting her hands dirty in the garden, baking perfect pies, simmering the best chili and her legendary potato soup. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, resilience, and homemade pie crusts. Her absence leaves a hole in our hearts, but her presence remains in the memories we share and the lives she touched. She is survived today by her children: Terry Weinberg, Cynthia (Dicken) Carpenter (husband Ken), and Jeff Weinberg, sister Christina Fisher, brother Mike Burnham, and several grand kids and great grand kids. Rosalie was preceded in death by husband Robert Lewis Dicken, sister Shirley Ann Dodgson, brothers Cleon & Roger Burnham and parents Shirley and Leona (Russell) Burnham. Following in her wish's cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be held at Schipper Funeral Home LTD. on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 4-7 PM celebrating both Rosalie and Robert. At the time of his passing there were no services held for him. We will be celebrating Robert this evening as well.
