Rosalie Steinweis

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Rosalie Steinweis of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. Rosalie passed peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of December, 15, 2025, just 3 weeks after her 103rd birthday. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Rosalie was a devoted mother of Saul (Irva), and Alan (Susanna), loving grandmother of Gayle Peck (Jason) and Melanie Steinweis, and adoring great grandmother of Brooke and Fara Peck.

Rosalie was born in Kielce, Poland to Saul and Esther Weisbrot. She was the oldest of 5 siblings. In May of 1942, Rosalie and 1 sister and 1 brother were deported to Labor Camps and survived the war. After liberation, she met her future husband David, also a survivor. They were married in a DP Camp in Germany where their oldest son, Saul was born.

The family came to America in November of 1947 to start a new life. After establishing their home in Brooklyn, New York, their youngest son, Alan was born. Rosalie was a seamstress by trade. During the 60's and early 70's Rosalie and David operated their own dry cleaning and alteration business in Brooklyn, where the family settled.

Rosalie and David moved to Florida eventually settling in Winston Towers in Sunny Isles, where they enjoyed their retirement, socializing, playing cards, hanging out at the beach and pool.

Rosalie's life was marked by resilience, courage, and strength. She was a survivor in every sense of the word.

A Chapel Service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Levitt-Weinstein Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert Memorial Chapel, 18840 West Dixie Highway, North Miami Beach, Florida 33179 (305) 932-2700.
