Rosalie Tunstead (Aragon), 84, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, was welcomed into the arms of her Savior on July 14, 2025. She was born on March 10, 1941, in Denver, Colorado, to Jesse and Margaret Aragon.
Rosalie grew up in a loving family with her brothers and sisters: Louise Hayes, Katharine Johnson, Jessica Ohden, Irene Komenda, Joseph Aragon of Denver, CO, and the late Robert Aragon and Anthony Aragon.
Her life was forever enriched when she married her beloved husband, Robert W. Tunstead. Together they shared 51 years of marriage filled with devotion, faith, and joy, until his passing in 2008. Their union was a shining example of love and partnership, and Rosalie carried his memory with her always.
Rosalie was a woman of deep faith and courage. She lived her life for Christ and never missed an opportunity to share the gospel. Her joy for life was contagious—whether she was playing cards, going to the casino with her sisters, tending her garden, cooking for her family, or simply sitting in the company of those she loved. She was fearless, never intimidated by challenges, and embraced every opportunity to make memories. Her presence made every gathering brighter, every burden lighter, and every heart stronger.
Rosalie is survived by her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy: Joshua Windham of Big Spring, TX; and Jenny Crow and her husband Eric Medina of Las Cruces, NM. She also leaves a beautiful legacy through her great-grandchildren: Orion Windham (Grace), Aurora Frame (Hunter), Xander Windham, Ivory Crow, Auralias Crow, Jade Crow, Maddox Medina, Bianca Medina, Dominic Medina, Aquila Medina, and Amadeo Medina. She will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert W. Tunstead; her beloved daughter, Roberta Tunstead (2014); her precious great-grandson, Axl Medina; her parents, Jesse and Margaret Aragon; and her brothers Robert Aragon and Anthony Aragon.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on August 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Las Cruces, NM, with Father Alejandro officiating. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery at 12:30 PM, where Rosalie will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband and daughter. A short graveside service will be held. Her granddaughter, Jenny Crow, will deliver the eulogy.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and sisters, who sat with Rosalie, traveled long distances to be with her, and lovingly cared for her in every way she needed. A special thank you also goes to Sierra Hospice—especially her devoted nurses Pamela and Melanie—for their tender care; to Father Alejandro; to Rosemary Medina and Cordy Medina for their constant love and support; and to her granddaughter Jenny Crow, who was her devoted companion and caregiver during her final journey.
Rosalie’s family rejoices in knowing that she is reunited with her loved ones in Heaven. She will be remembered for her faith, her warmth, and her unshakable love for family. To know Rosalie was to be loved unconditionally, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to share her journey.
