Rosalinda (Rosie) Rouston 12/29/1959-12/21/2025
Rosalinda was born in San Diego, California. Over the years, she made her home in Las Vegas, Nevada, and later in Edgewood, New Mexico, where she spent her final chapter surrounded by family and memories.
Mom had a true gift for making a house feel like home. She especially loved decorating for the holidays, with Christmas holding a special place in her heart. She took great pride in keeping her home beautiful — always moving, always busy, and always caring for her space.
She had a deep and tender love for animals and cared for many throughout her life, including dogs, birds, and countless cats.
Above all, Rosalinda was a devoted mother and homemaker. She also worked as a painter, housekeeper, and in various other trades, always willing to work hard and do what was needed. She was strong, determined, and carried a quiet resilience that defined her life.
She is survived by her loving spouse, James Dempsey; her children, Gilbert Rodriguez Jr. and Jennifer Vanessa Smith; and her four grandchildren, Alena Marie Castelo, Andrew Junior Smith, Benjamin Wayne Smith, and Emma Haley Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Junior Rouston and Carmen Gonzales Rouston; her brother, Victor Guillermo Rouston; and her sisters, Guadalupe “Lupe” Lloyd and Maricela “Mari” Rita Alvarez. She is survived by her brothers George Thomas Rouston, John Manuel “Manny” Rouston, and Carlos Arthur “Charlie” Rouston, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Mom was a warrior, and her life touched many. Today, we celebrate her strength, her love, her dedication to family, and the many memories she leaves behind.
She is now home with Jesus, free and whole, running with the wind, soaring with the eagles, and dancing joyfully once again. We will meet her again in heaven. Until that day, she is lovingly remembered, deeply cherished, and forever missed.
We love you so much
