Rosalinda Coto Stead joined her Lord on November 27, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on February 13, 1948 in Huixtla, Chiapas, Mexico. She was preceded in death by Ricardo Coto Cordova, her sons, Ricardo Martin Coto and Carlos Eduardo Coto, her parents, Faustino Espinosa Palacios and Elia Josefa Mendoza Ochoa, her brother, Faustino Espinosa Mendoza and her two dear cats, Orangy and Kelly. She is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, David Cleven Stead; daughter, Rosalinda Coto-Patlan (Dagoberto); sisters, Nery Huri Castro (Francisco), Luvia Espinosa de Palacios (Amin), Margot Espinosa de Delgado; brother, Sergio Espinosa Mendoza; and sisters-in-law, Araceli Parilla de Espinosa, Barbara Hrivnak, and Nancy Crozier Holt, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and five cats, who loved her dearly.
Rosalinda triumphantly graduated with her Bachelors of Arts degree in 2004 at the age of 56. She retired from UTSA after over 22 years as Administrative Assistant to various operational departments and continued to serve her community by teaching Spanish at NEISD, as well as offering private classes to select students forming bonds with some that lasted throughout her life. Her talents and interests were varied and ranged from square dancing (where she met her husband David) to an extra class ham radio operator license. She was also a great cook, and she loved good music, especially mariachi and Mexican and American pop/rock from the 1950s, 60s and 70s, especially Elvis Presley and Enrique Guzmán.
Family was the sole focus of her life; a lovingly fierce protector of those she loved. She was the rock that held the ship steady. Through her unwavering faith, she became an inspiration and a role model; her wisdom was heeded by all. With her one of a kind expression of joy that she generously transmitted to everyone, her presence filled the atmosphere, bringing fun to all gatherings. Her beautiful smile and the twinkle in her eyes will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
