Rosalva Cardenas Flores

Rosalva C. Flores, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, and friend, was called home to heaven on the evening of August 9, 2025, at the age of 75, surrounded by the love of her family.

Rosalva was born in Longmont, Colorado and was raised in Gonzales, TX. Rosalva later moved and planted her roots in San Marcos, TX becoming a long-time care giver. Affectionately known by many as "Rosie" or "Chawa," She had a heart of gold. To know her was to love her and to be loved by her was to truly know love.

Rosalva is survived by her nine beloved daughters: Monica Proa (Marco Montes), Margaret Flores, Melissa Ugalde, Marsha Hernandez (Juan), Malinda Almaguer (Felix Urrutia), Marietta Silva (Roberto), Magdalena Almaguer, Mary Jones (Danny), and Rochelle Flores (Bryan Villarreal). She is also survived by her siblings: Refugio Flores, Jr., Ralph Flores (Vicky), Richard Flores, and Rita Flores (Zenon Rodriguez). Rosalva's love continues through her 37 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, former Husband, Celso Almaguer, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She was welcomed into eternity by her loving parents, Refugio and Paulita Flores, her siblings Reynaldo Flores, Roel Flores, Ruben Flores, Linda Flores (Joaquin Almaguer), Rebecca Flores, Sandra Flores and Lupita Flores. Her precious grandchildren, Brianna Christian Ugalde and Juan Hernandez Jr. Her sons- in-law; Manuel Aguilar Jr. and Angel Ugalde.

The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm on Sunday, August 17, 2025 in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary following at 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Monday, August 18, 2025 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Jason Martini as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Gonzales Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jimmy Proa, Anthony Aguilar, Jr., Miguel Ugalde, Jr., Damian Hernandez, Roberto Silver, Jr., Alan Hart, II, Felix Urrutia, Jr., and Steven Crenshaw. Honorary pallbearer, Christian Urrutia.
