Rose E. Alvarado Gonzalez
Rose Gonzalez, 85, beloved mother, grandmother, step-grandmother, and aunt passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025 in Hudson, Florida. Rose was born on October 9, 1940 in Puerto Rico to Gregorio Alvarado and Georgina Alvarado Ortiz. She moved to New York with her parents and sister, Aida (Alvarado) Ventra, in 1952. Rose, along with her son and parents, moved to Hudson Florida in 1996. In her last years of life, Rose lived with her sister, Aida. They were best friends and supported and helped each other through all of life’s challenges. Rose was a dedicated, loving mother who raised her son, Gary, on her own after her divorce. She was a giving and caring person who cared for her parents in their later years and helped her son raise his children. Rose always looked for the good in people and never had a negative thing to say. Her years with her companion, Jerry DelPrete, were her happiest and were filled with travel and dancing. She was by his side until his death. Rose is survived by her son, Gary Gonzalez; grandchildren, Gary Gonzalez, Jr. and Gina Gonzalez; step-grandchild, Trey Allen; sister, Aida Ventra; niece, Lisa Cantone (Frank); nephew, Greg Ventra (Guy Griggs); many cousins including Enid Alvarado; aunts, and uncles. Rose’s funeral Mass will be on Monday, November 10 at 11:00 am at St. James Apostle Catholic Church in Port Richey, Florida. She will be interred at Grace Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Hudson, Florida immediately after.
