Rose Ann (Adams) Smuin

Rose Ann was the first-born child of James R. and Margaret Ann ( Bird) Adams. She was raised and attended school in Vernal, UT where she met the love of her life, Leonard LaVal (Val) Smuin.

They were married on Thanksgiving Day in 1970. They lived in Vernal and had 3 children, Orval Lloyd Smuin, Cody Ray (Chad) Smuin, and Brandie Ann Smuin. They later made their home in Lapoint, UT.

She earned her GED and went on to become a nurse, and eventually a Registered Nurse. She worked for the Uintah Care Center, as one of their head Nurses, until she retired.

She loved helping others, taking photos and making photo albums, playing Yahtzee, hunting for arrowheads, camping, and most of all spending time with her kids and grandkids. They brought her so much joy.

She was dearly loved, by all who knew her, and will be greatly missed.

Rose Ann is survived by her husband Leonard LaVal “Val” Smuin, son Cody “Chad” Smuin, daughter Brandie Ann Smuin Mitchell, 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, sisters BJ Stephenson, and Lorraine McDonald.

She is preceded in death by her son Orval Lloyd Smuin, parents James & Margaret Adams, and brother James Duane “Jim” Adams.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 12 noon at the Lapoint Cemetery.
