Joyce Smuin Obituary
Connie Joyce Smuin, age 96, of Lapoint, Utah, passed peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family on August 12, 2025.
She was born August 8, 1929, in Gusher, Utah, to Leonard M. and Clara Iceline Hendershot Farnsworth. She married Loyd Smuin in 1948 and they later divorced. They had two children together Farrel Smuin (1949) and Leonard “Val” Smuin (1951).
Joyce lived a long full life, surrounded by family. She was very proud of her career in health care and her time as an EMT. She enjoyed numerous hobbies including playing the organ and singing, beading, gardening, and fishing with her family. She loved learning new things and studied nutrition science all her life. She was deeply committed to her Christian faith and prayed daily.
Joyce is survived by sister, Margie Clark; sons, Farell (Beth) Smuin; Leonard “Val” Smuin; grandchildren: Chad Smuin, Brandie Smuin, Tristan Smuin, and Shawnary Jackson, and her many great and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings: Naomi, Gene, Lynn, Ron, Lamore, Stella; her daughter-in-law, Rose Ann Smuin; and her grandson, Orval Loyd Smuin.
Per her wishes, she was cremated.
