Mrs. Rose Mary Blankenship Shrewsbury, 82, of Lancaster, widow of Dale Roland Shrewsbury, passed away Monday, September 1, 2025 at her home. She was born September 17, 1942 in McDowell County, WV, a daughter of the late Cager Blankenship and Thressie Robinson Blankenship. Mrs. Shrewsbury loved her work as a surgical tech and pursued her passion for 58 years. She retired from Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton, WV after 35 years of service. Mrs. Shrewsbury was later employed with Springs Memorial Hospital for 23 years.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Shrewsbury will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Boone officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.
Mrs. Shrewsbury is survived by her two sons, Kevin Smith (Christy) of Bluefield, WV and Shane Smith of Van Wyck; a daughter, Chantelle Harvey (James) of Van Wyck; a brother, Bill Blankenship (Lou Ann) of Thomasville, NC; seven grandchildren, Blake, Kera, Kaitlyn, Kelliann, Eric, Rolan and Cheyenne; and five great-grandchildren, Kyson, Meshari, Gabriel, Robbie and Jay.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Lancaster Funeral Home.
