LANCASTER, SC – Tommie "Tom" Cleveland Knight, Jr., 73, of Lancaster, SC, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 9, 2025. Born in Lancaster on April 13, 1952, he was a son of the late Tommie "Tuck" Cleveland Knight, Sr., and the late Sarah Steele Knight, and the loving husband of Lynne Gardner Knight. A strong believer, Tom was wise with scripture and known for his exceptional prayers and his generosity. He never met a stranger and was always helping others.

Tom worked for many years at General Tire in Charlotte, NC, and also spent time working in construction and masonry alongside his son. A dedicated family man, he enjoyed cooking-his grandchildren will always remember his amazing Pawpaw rice-as well as hunting and riding motorcycles. He was also a talented quilter and lovingly made a blanket or quilt for each of his grandchildren.

Tom was a member of the Camp Creek Masonic Lodge #317, the Order of the Eastern Star Antioch #291, and the Hejaz Shriners Hospital. He was a member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church and attended Trinity Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, Lynne, Tom is survived by his son, Tommie Knight III (Melanie); his daughter, Crystal Campbell (Jeremy); his stepchildren, Ashley Hilton (Travis) and Christopher Lloyd (Christina); seven grandchildren, Harrison, Wes, Mason, LilyGrace, LaylaRose, Evelyn, and John Bruce; a great-grandson, Callum; two brothers, David "Tink" Knight (Loren) and Todd Knight (Tina); two sisters, Joann Hinson (Earl) and Rebecca Knight (Rex Robbins); and many nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his first wife, Cindy Knight; his parents; and a sister, Sue Knight.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home, with Rev. Jessie Adams and Pastor Ruth Ann Pitt officiating. The family will receive friends at Tom and Lynne's home following the service.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospital, 950 W Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605.

An online guest register is available for condolences on the obituaries page at www.burgessfunerals.com.
