Rose Borbone Obituary
Born in Long Branch, Rose was raised and resided in Newark for many years and lived most of her married life in Carteret. Upon her high school graduation, Rose went on to nursing school at St. Michaels Hospital in Newark and graduated as a registered nurse, retiring after 50 years in the field at various locations. She enjoyed many trips to Atlantic City and was fondly known by many for her baking. Rose was a loving mother, grandmother "Gigi" and great grandmother who will be deeply missed by her many dear friends and cherished relatives.
Rose was predeceased by her husband in 1984, Donald A. Borbone; parents, Angelo Stio, Sr. and Josephine Stio along with her brother, Angelo Stio, Jr. Surviving are her four children, Roxanne Coghan, Donald Borbone, Gene Borbone with his wife Helene and Joe Borbone with his wife Sandra; grandchildren, Frank Coghan, Michael Coghan, Valerie Winter, Doug Borbone, Nicole Borbone, Brendan Borbone, Natalie Borbone and Gianna Borbone. Also surviving are 12 great grandchildren as well as her sister, Virginia Evangelista.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30am on Monday, December 18, 2023 from CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 625 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph R.C. Church in Carteret. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 2pm to 5pm at the funeral home.
