Rose Chaskin Obituary
Rose Chaskin (nee Block) died Feb. 3, 2022. She was the wife of the late Leon Chaskin, who died in 1990. She was 97 years old.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Mary and Nathan Block, she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, class of 1942. A member of Beth Shalom Congregation, Scranton, she was vice president of its sisterhood. She was also a member of the Jewish Home Auxiliary and its board; the Jewish Community Center Senior Adult Club, serving as vice president and on its board; as well as the Jewish War Veterans Auxiliary. She volunteered at the veterans' home and was a member of Hadassah.
A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Rose will be deeply missed.
Surviving are two daughters, Meril Chaskin and Nancy Lichtenstein (Gary); a son, Nathan; and granddaughters, Danielle and Julie Lichtenstein.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph and Lester; and sisters, Lillian Dumoff and Frances Rudolph.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, Feb. 6, at 1:30 p.m. in the Dalton Jewish Cemetery.
Shiva will be via Zoom.
Memorial contributions may be made to Beth Shalom Congregation, Scranton, or to the Jewish Home of Eastern Pa.
