Rose C. Chervenak, 74, of Massillon passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family. Rose was born in Massillon, Ohio on March 9, 1950 the daughter of the late Harold and Margaret (Calhoun) Bash.
Rose was a lifelong resident of Massillon. She was dedicated to her job as a Social Worker for 40 years. Rose retired from Twelve Inc. She loved camping, fishing and anything that had to do with the outdoors. Rose also enjoyed going to Casinos and playing cards. Family was most important to her.
She is survived by her children, Jim Thorn, Lynn Thorn, Stephen "Beaver" (Julie) Thorn, Mike (Marisa) Shaner, and Mikey Shaner, Jr.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Brian Bash, and Mags McKinney; and her companion of 40 years, Paul "Ole" Lapikas.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Jim Bash, Lee Bash, and Bruce Bash.
According to her wishes cremation will take place. A Celebration of Rose's life will be held at a later date.
