Carl Lee Genet, 94, of Canton, Ohio, passed away on September 17, 2025. He was born in Massillon, Ohio on November 4, 1930 to the late Laverne and Thelma Genet (Dycus).

Carl worked as a block operator for the Pennsylvania Railroad and Conrail Railroad. He also worked as a school bus driver. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed many trips to Canada and other local fishing spots. Carl enjoyed playing hand-ball, and was enjoyed staying active at the Hall of Fame Fitness Center in Canton.

In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his wife of over 72 years, Viola Genet; and their beloved son, David Genet.

Carl is survived by his children, Bonnie Ervin, Lynn (Jeffrey) Rupert, and Edward (Carolyn) Genet; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-children; brother, Robert (Setsuko) Genet; brother-in-law Thomas Crowther; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Paquelet Funeral Home and from 10:00 to 11:00am on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at the funeral home. A funeral service will begin at 11:00am Thursday, with burial to follow at North Lawn Cemetery.
