Rose DeHerrera Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by St. Mary Cemetery & Funeral Center on Mar. 12, 2026.
Rose Marie DeHerrera

October 15, 1939 – February 2, 2026

Rose Marie DeHerrera, a devoted mother, grandmother, world traveler, and family historian, passed away peacefully in Roseville, California, on February 2, 2026, at the age of 86.

A Life of Learning and Service

Born in Manassa, Colorado, to Agustin and Adelaida DeHerrera, Rose spent her youth in Colorado and Sacramento. A lifelong advocate for education, she was a member of the historic first graduating class of Bishop Armstrong High School in 1957. She went on to earn her Associate of Arts degree from American River College, paving the way for a distinguished career in public service. Rose served with integrity as an Accountant and IRS Officer for the U.S. Government Civil Service.

A Global Journey

Rose shared 64 years of marriage and adventure with her beloved husband, Robert Eleodoro DeHerrera. Together, they lived in Germany and Japan and traveled to countries across the globe. Despite her international travels, Rose remained fond of simple road trips and the beauty of discovery. Her passion for heritage led her to research and publish a genealogy book, ensuring her family's history would be preserved for generations to come.

A Legacy of Joy

Known for her quick laugh and love of dancing, Rose was the heart of family gatherings. She was a woman who valued empathy and compassion above all else, teaching her children the importance of honesty and education. Whether she was playing games or exploring a new corner of the world, Rose approached life with a vibrant spirit.

Family

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Agustin and Adelaida, and her cherished husband, Robert. She is survived by her sisters, Julie and Libby, and her brother, Rick. Her legacy lives on through her children, Ron, Paul, and Diane; her six grandchildren, Aron, Daniel, Amber, Jason, Adam, and Erin; and her thirteen great-grandchildren, Will, Emily, Ethan, Evan, Genevie, Sofia, Lincoln, Joshua, Adrian, Reyna, Henry (Hank), Francis, and Koen.
