Obituary Rose Ann Doty
Rose Ann Doty (Ann, or Aunt Sissy) passed away Friday April 28, 2023 at the age of 94. She was a long-time resident of Cedar Park, Texas having moved to Cedar Park in 1986. She passed away in the Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Ann was born in Lott, Texas, August 18, 1928 the first child of Clarence and Madie Beimer. She had three sisters Katy, Jarlene, Anita, and one brother Clarence Jr. (Bub). She grew up in and around Temple. A childhood filled with "keeping-up" with the relatives and helping on the farm.
She met and married Otis James Doty on June 22, 1946 and their life journey began. The first years were spent as an Army wife taking care of the home and family. Later in life, sharing her husband's love of Native American art they opened a retail store focusing on Native American jewelry and art. The store operated in Oxen Hill, Maryland, later moved to Austin, and then to Cedar Park. Her love of retail continued as she became an assistant buyer for one of the major retailers in Austin.
As a Military wife, she traveled throughout Europe and the United States. She lived in Germany for five (5) years and traveled extensively throughout Europe. She lived in various places throughout the United States. She loved collecting antiques and things from different countries and cultures. Her biggest attribute was the ability to put people at ease and make them feel comfortable no matter what the situation. She accepted things as they were and didn't try to change things as long as no one was being hurt.
Ann is survived by her son Paul, also of Cedar Park and by her sister Anita residing in South Carolina. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces to many to mention here. She is also survived by the family dog, Sheldon.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Otis, her daughter Daniela, Grandson Bryan, and great grandson Cody. She is also proceeded by her sisters Katy, Jarlene, and her brother Bub.
Services will be held at the Beck Funeral Home 1700 E Whitestone Blvd Cedar Park, Texas 78613 Wednesday May 3rd at 10:00am (CT).
