Rose Dougherty Obituary Rose Dougherty of Shaler, formerly of Etna, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025 at the age of 93 surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, William "Doc" Dougherty, her parents, Matthew and Anna Shegina, sisters, Anna Mae Scheid, Loretta Ganster and Tresa "Terry" Ketterer. Rose is survived by her loving children Debbie (Harry) Barnes, Donna Dougherty, Dan Dougherty, and Denise (Bob) Kunz. Nana to Terry and Matthew Dougherty, BJ (Nicole) Kunz, Brad (Emily) Kunz and Great-Nana to Rian and Hayleigh Dougherty, Addison and Jonathan "JT" Kunz.
Rose was born on January 19, 1932, in Etna PA. She was a lifelong member of All Saints Church (St. Matthew Parish), as well as Lodge 4 of the Croatian Fraternal Union. She served as Judge of Elections, Ward 1 in Etna for 50 years, and was an active member of the Etna Civic and Etna Neighborhood Associations for 32 years.
Visitation will be on Friday July 18th from 1-8PM at Neely Funeral Home, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd, Glenshaw PA, 15116.
Mass of Christian burial on Saturday the 19th at 10AM at St. Matthew Parish, All Saints Church, 19 Wilson Street, Etna PA 15223. The family requests that everyone please meet at church.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made to either the Etna Neighborhood Association, 437 Butler Street, Etna, PA 15223 or the Bread of Life Food Pantry, 94 Locust Street, Etna, PA 15223.
