Rose Findlay

Rose M. Findlay, 86, passed away on August 27, 2025 at Gothenburg Health in Gothenburg, NE.

Rose was born on June 02, 1939 in Green River, WY to parents Omar and Marie (Adams) Hudson.

Rose attended school in Gothenburg, NE. On August 29, 1965 she married Bruce Findlay in Gothenburg, NE and to this union two children were born, Lisa and Charles. Bruce and Rose raised their children on the same farm that Bruce's grandparents homesteaded in 1893. She was a very special mother and wife.

Rose was a true farmer's wife through and through. She had a quiet strength and a generous heart. She had a special bond with animals, especially the many dogs that were part of her life over the years. Rose cherished simple pleasures, especially a hot cup of coffee shared with good friends. She adored her children and grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and joy.

Rose enjoyed attending both the First Baptist Church as well as the Cowboy Church with her daughter, where she found strength, community, and peace, both pastors were very special to her. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, and she touched many through her kindness and quiet devotion.

Preceded in death by her husband, Bruce, parents Omar and Marie Hudson, sisters, Virginia Hudson, Betty Waters, Mary Millsap, Juanita Hudson.

Rose is survived by her children, Lisa (Dan) Strand of Cozad, NE, Charles (Janine) Findlay of Lincoln, NE; four grandchildren, Taylor, Logan, Addison and Harper Findlay of Lincoln, NE; nieces and nephews.

Register Book Signing will be held, Monday, September 1, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 PM, Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 620 10th St., Gothenburg, NE with the family present from 4:00-6:00 PM.

Celebration of Life will be held, 10:30 AM, Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at First Baptist Church, with Dan Urman officiating.

Burial of cremains will follow at the Gothenburg Cemetery.
