Shirley A. Booth, age 89, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025.

Shirley was born September 4, 1935, in Glendo, WY, to William and Mildred (Leech) Cole.

She grew up on the family farm around Mitchell, NE, and graduated from Mitchell High School, she spent her teenage summers in Arizona, where she joyfully taught vacation Bible school - a reflection of her lifelong faith and heart for children.

On June 1, 1961, Shirley married the love of her life, James Booth, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Together, they built a loving home and raised four children: David, Ron, Sharon, and Susie. The Booth family called several Nebraska communities home over the years - Scottsbluff, Central City, North Platte, and Brady - before settling in Gothenburg in 2021.

Shirley's nurturing spirit extended beyond her family. She ran a beloved in-home daycare, where she cared for countless children over the years, all of whom she considered "her kids." She found great joy in gardening, baking, tending to her flowers, celebrating with family, and cherishing her Stone Hearth community in Gothenburg.

She is survived by her children: David (Cara) Booth of Littleton, CO; Ron (Robin) Booth of Conifer, CO; Sharon Andres of Gothenburg, NE; and Susie (Colin) Lopez of Mt. Arlington, NJ. She also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, her sister Elsie Brisco of Scottsbluff, NE, and her brother Larry Cole of Casper, WY.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband James Booth, her parents William and Mildred Cole, her brother Roger Cole, her sister Nancy Cole, and her son-in-law Bill Andres.

A woman of faith, warmth, and unwavering kindness, Shirley's legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held 2:00-4:00 PM, Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 620 10th St., Gothenburg, NE.

Funeral Services will be held, 1:00 PM, Monday, August 25, 2025 at Grace Community Bible Church, 1021 Buffalo Bill Ave, North Platte, NE, with Pastor Mike Wing officiating.
