Rose Marie Gonzalez, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in heaven on Sunday, August 24, 2025. She was born to Adelaido and Herminia Gonzalez on November 22, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas.

Rose Marie entered the Sisters of Incarnete Word and Blessed Sacrament of Victoria, Texas in 1958, at the young age of 15 as a Candidate to make her vows as a Sister, and withdrew from the order at the age of 22 in 1965, to care for her parents.

Rose Marie attained her Bachelor's degree shortly thereafter, at the University of Incarnete Word with a degree in Education and Religious Studies. She was an Educator for over 20 years, and studied at the Scottish Rite Hospital Training Center in Dallas, Texas. Rose Marie was one of the first Certified Dyslexia Therapists in the South Texas region, and was heavily involved in implementing the Dyslexia Program for the Edgewood Independent School District.

Rose Marie was an active member, lector, CCD educator, and volunteer at Holy Family Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas for over 20 years. She also was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, Texas for over 25 years. She was a member of the Guadalupana Society, Legion of Mary, Catholic Daughters, ACTS, Eucharistic Minister at church and to the homebound, and taught elementary education at Sacred Heart Catholic School. When visiting her daughter in Boerne, she also attended St. Peter Apostle Catholic Church.

She was married to the love of her life, her husband, Ret. 1ST SGT. Felipe Gonzalez for over 50 years. Together they had 3 wonderful children. Blanca, Phillip, and Viviana (Vivi). She was a faithful and devout wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She was met in Heaven with open arms by her parents; her loving husband, Felipe Gonzalez; her daughter, Annalissa Gonzalez; and her brother, Adelaido "Buddy" Gonzalez.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Blanca Rosa Gonzalez, Phillip Mark Gonzalez (Laura), Viviana Farnsworth (Vincente); grandchildren, Justin Xavier Morales, Jayden Alexander Mireles, Analisa Gonzalez, Nayeli Gonzalez, Marco Antonio Gonzalez, Jude Augustus Matos, Jordan Alexander Jenkins; great grandchildren, Felicity, Adriana, Liam, Malachi, Kimberly, and Kinsley; sister, Eleanor Ross; Aunt Emma Medina; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

A Visitation will be held from 10:00AM to 10:30 AM, a holy rosary will be recited at 10:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Following the mass, Interment will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Shelter #3 at 2:30 PM.

Following the Interment ceremony, a reception will be hosted by the Gonzalez children at La Fonda in Alamo Heights, Texas located at 8633 Crownhill Blvd., San Antonio, Texas 78209.
