Rose M. Granite
September 18, 1931 - March 23, 2025
Clarence, Pennsylvania - Rose Marie Granite, 93, of Clarence, PA, peacefully passed from this life into her Heavenly Home on Sunday, March 23, 2025. Born on September 18, 1931, in Clarence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Mary A. (Kirko) Basalla. On June 29, 1957, Rose married Francis F. Granite at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Clarence. Francis preceded her in death on December 10, 2006.
Rose attended Clarence School and was a lifelong member of Queen of Archangels Parish Church, where she served as past president of the Altar Rosary Society and was known as the go-to person for funeral dinners for many years. She also belonged to several organizations, including the Catholic Daughters of Americas, Court Rev. Patrick McArdle #448 in Bellefonte, where she was a 53-year member; the Clarence American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 813, of which she was a member for over 50 years; as well as the Clarence Moose and the Snow Shoe VFW Ladies Auxiliary Unit 5644.
A gifted cook, Rose enjoyed catering large social events, including local weddings with hundreds of guests. She also took great pleasure in baking, bowling, playing Bingo, cards, and enjoying pull-tab ticket tournaments. Rose and Francis owned and operated Paradise Gardens Bar and Grill in Clarence for many years, and she was the inspiration to her granddaughter, Ashley, in the creation of Rosie's Pierogies.
Rose's faith was central to her life. A devout Catholic, she attended Mass daily until her health no longer permitted it and was a steadfast prayer warrior who prayed the Rosary faithfully. She believed deeply in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was confident that her final breath on Earth would mark her first breath in Heaven.
Her service to others was done not for praise, but out of a deep love and compassion. Rose's greatest joy came from helping those in need, and she never hesitated to offer a hand to those less fortunate.
Rose's family was everything to her, and she loved each of them in a unique and special way. Her children will dearly miss their "mom," and her grandchildren will cherish the memories of their beloved "Bubba" and "Bubba Rose" The world has lost a truly remarkable woman, but Heaven is rejoicing as she is welcomed with open arms.
Rose is survived by six children: Mary Ann Hamilton of Clarence; Michael F. Granite, Sr. of Clarence; Karen M. Pipta and her husband, Phil, of Pleasant Gap; Ralph R. Granite of Dover, PA; David J.
