Rose Haight Obituary

Rose V. Haight, 94, entered into rest on October 26, 2022, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center with her family by her side.
A lifelong local resident, Rose was born in Beacon on January 2, 1928, to the late Andrew and Victoria (Podloski) Lucas, and attended local Beacon schools. Rose worked as a Nurse's Aid at both Highland Hospital and Fishkill Health Related Center, and she also worked in Food Service at the Canteen at Castle Point.
A parishioner of St. Joachim – St. John the Evangelist Church, Rose was also a member of the Parish Women's Club. She enjoyed baking and crafting, and loved spending time with her family – especially attending her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's activities.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (William) Petry; daughter-in-law, Carol Haight; sisters, Mary Goodall and Margaret (Hank) Barker; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Rose was predeceased by her former husband, William C. Haight; son, William A. Haight, great-grandson, Francis William Petry, brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Lorraine Lucas; brother-in-law, John Goodall.
Family and friends will gather on Sunday, October 30 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman Street, Beacon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 31 at 10 a.m. at St. Joachim Church, 51 Leonard Street, Beacon. Burial will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery, Beacon.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Association Dutchess/Ulster Walk (Rose's favorite team: Walking the Cure) or the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, 195 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY 12520.
