Rose Heiser Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Harding Funeral Home on Mar. 11, 2026.
Rose B. Heiser was born in Hollywood, Fl to Alice Kennedy and Patrick Blake. She is predeceased by her husband of almost 60 years, Charles "Chuck" Heiser, July 17, 2020, and her sister Patricia Richards of Philadelphia, PA. She earned her undergraduate degree from Villanova University, College of Nursing in Villanova, PA. She began as a homemaker to her four children before going back to care for the elderly for over 30 years as a Registered Nurse and Head Nurse at Waveney Care Center in New Canaan, CT. In her retirement, she was an active supporter of Saint Francis of Assisi parish in Weston, CT and then Assumption Church in Westport, CT. Over the years, she volunteered actively in many different settings, most notably Good Shepherd House soup kitchen in Norwalk and hospital/senior home communities where she offered visitations.

As a long-time Weston resident, and a mother of four children, she was always on-the-fly. With seemingly endless energy and enthusiasm, she never missed a game or school function. As her children grew older, she even kept close ties with their friends from Weston High School and was thought of as a second or "honorary mom" to many. Rose and Chuck Heiser were often spotted at Compo Beach watching the sunset, spending quality time with grandchildren, and hosting many brunches and family dinners. She was devoted to her faith and was endlessly grateful for her role as "Grammy." She was quick to play, even quicker to shop. She was a voracious reader and loved to look at family pictures. She also enjoyed being ready to hustle grandchildren to the beach or hit the playground. Her selfless nature and effusive joy in being truly present to others gave us all a great model for life.

She is survived by her children Jeanne Ann Heiser, East Norwalk, CT, Kenneth (Ken) C. Heiser and his wife Jen, Westport, CT, their son, Marshall of Austin, TX, Linda LaRusso and her husband William LaRusso of East Norwalk, CT and Angela Hare and her husband Tim Hare and their children Charley "Chuck" and Lucy of Shelton, CT. She loved to laugh and hear what everybody was up to in their lives. She loved making her home in Weston and then did the same at 3030 Watermark. She will be missed by the many patrons, employees, and nurses at 3030. She will be very much missed by her children, grandchildren, in-laws, family and friends. Bottom line – she was fun to be around, and she really cared about all with whom she came into contact.

A wake will be at Hardings Funeral Home Friday, March 13th 4-6pm. A mass will be Saturday, March 14th 11am at Assumption Church.
