Leon made my time with the choir an experience of JOY and musical worship. He spent more hours than all of us practicing and tutoring our lectors - doing special rehearsals for our soloists and those who presented for our Holy Week and Christmas celebrations- having to drive home and return the next morning - beyond dedicated he was a constant inspiration..... have missed him since his retirement - but know he has found his place among the angel Chorus !

Joining the St.Lukes Choir 22yrs Ago Directed by Mr John Hanulick and Leon Bernard was one of the Best Decisions I ever made accepting the Invitation to join The Famous Phrase was "You don't have to know or Read Music Just come To Rehearsal" A came to Rehearsal and the Rest is History,We Bonded,Became Friends Until he Retired.I am delighted to know he will be doing the same for The Heavenly Choir of Angels. Sleep in Peace My Dear Friend.Until we Meet Again.

I will Truly Miss Him,But knowing he will be Playing for the Heavenly Angels at His Newest Residence. Sleep in Peace My Dear Friend.

RIP, Leon. Thank you for the decades of generosity and kindness. We were lucky to share countless, indelible recollections together, lifting the spirits of so many people. We had great fun doing it. You are missed here, though no doubt where you are now.
