Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carrier Family Funeral Home & Crematory - Windham on Jun. 11, 2025.
Rose (Chin) Len, 97, of Salem, NH, formerly of Manchester, NH on June 9, 2025. She was born September 21, 1927 in Boston, MA to Wah Chin and Len-Tshil Wong. Beloved wife of 47 years of the late Albert G. Len, devoted mother of Sharon and her husband Dr. Spiros Mitsopoulos of Manchester, NH, Theodore Len of Amherst, NH, Nancy Hunt and her husband William of Auburndale, MA, Susan Prokopik of Lawrence, MA and her husband Glenn Baroody. Cherished grandmother of Nikolas Mitsopoulos and his wife Lyndsay, Timothy Mitsopoulos, Zachary Mitsopoulos, Cassandra Len and her husband Sean McDonough, Christopher Len and his fiancée Carly Schoon, Brandon Len, Mia Len, Briana Hunt, Cameron Hunt, and Chase Baroody. Loving great-grandmother of Zoe Mitsopoulos, Eleni Mitsopoulos, and Grayson Baroody. Dear sister of Amy Guen, and the late Helen Len, Ann Wong, Billy Chin, and Frank Chin. Dear half-sister to the late Lou Lock Chin, Fung Tew Hugh, Fung Yuet Moy, and Fung Nui Moy. Cherished godmother and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by many lifelong friends from Manchester and new friends from Greystone Farm at Salem.
After both of her parents died when she was only 7 years old, she and her five siblings were lovingly welcomed into her late father's family's household in China and raised by her father's first wife Ngan Heung Moy. She spent her grade school and high school years in Guangdong Province, China, returning to Boston in 1949. She graduated from Boston University in 1954 with a degree in Business Administration and worked as an at-home accountant for her family's many business ventures for nearly 50 years. She was a person of faith and lived serving others. A longtime parishioner of St. Joseph's Cathedral in Manchester, NH, she was an active member of Saint Anne's Guild, the Red Hat Society, and the Elliot Hospital volunteer group. During her early working years, Wednesdays were reserved for meeting her sisters at Boston's Filene's Basement to share a cup of coffee and a muffin, and to later join their other siblings for lunch in Boston's Chinatown. Rose enjoyed solving the most challenging Sudoku puzzles, exercising at the senior center with friends, and finding the best shopping bargains. Her greatest joy was cooking amazing full-course traditional Chinese meals for her family. Her freezer was always full and ready for last-minute guests. When she lost her eyesight in her later years, she relished long phone calls with family and friends. No detail was too small.
The family is most appreciative of and grateful for the exceptional and loving care provided by the staff at Greystone Farm at Salem, where Rose most recently lived. The family is also thankful for the staff at VNA of Manchester & Southern New Hampshire, who provided Rose and her family with invaluable hospice care and support these past few months.
At Rose's request, burial will be private. Memorial donations in Rose's name may be made to Future In Sight, 25 Walker Street, Concord, NH 03301. Online donations can be made at https://futureinsight.org.
