Rose McCalip Obituary

Rose was raised in Snook, Texas by her grandparents, Alfred and Olga Macik and Aunts Olga, Dorothy, Lillie May, and Evelyn and Uncle Stanley. She went on to graduate from Snook High School.
Rose was married 50 years to James (Jim) McCalip. She had one child from this marriage, Jeremiah (Jeremy) McCalip and two children from a previous marriage, Richard and Susan.
Rose loved the Lord and her family have no doubt that she is in Heaven with Jesus and no longer carries any worries or pain and sickness. Her biggest fear was that she would have to suffer for a long time, and God answered that wish for her. We know that we will be joined with her one day-with our passing when Jesus calls us home to be with him.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Clement Macik and Stella Burkhalter. Left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 50 years, James McCalip; three children, Richard Pickett, Susan Wood and Jeremiah McCalip; four grandchildren, Jacob Wood, Joshua Wood, Elena Pickett and Valentine Pickett; two great grandchildren, Amelia and Sean Wood.
The memorial service will be held on May 25, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel, 1101 Antoine Dr., Houston, Texas 77055.
