Rose Oponski Obituary

Tough and resilient, but also caring and kind, Rose was beloved by all who knew her. She grew up in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia, thus her undying support for the Eagles, Phillies and all things Philly! In her heyday, she was a golfer and a softball savant. She was the women's champ at Ron Jaworski's Eagles Nest and Springfield Country Club, and she coached basketball and softball for the Folcroft Girls Club.
Rose was a fount of inspiration and wisdom for those who needed it. She loved singing, dancing, the Jersey shore and the Delaware beaches. She had a quick wit and a quicker tongue. Rose never let life get her down, and, to the end, she lived her way.
She is predeceased by her husband Edmund T. Oponski Sr., siblings Dan, Paul James, Geraldine, Betty, Regina and Jimmy, her mother Regina Strong and her daughter in law Nicola Vesty.
Survivors: loving mother of Denise Evans (Walt) Kilgore and Eddie O. Jr., cherished gran of Todd (Jen), Joel, Danielle (Leon Bruce), Josh and Jessie, great gran of Mia, Sofia, J.J., and Leo, special niece Stacey Westervelt and many nieces, nephews, extending family and her friends and the staff at Chestnut Ridge Assisted Living
A private family Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
