Farley Funeral HomeRose Marie (Mistiszyn) Zadra, 89, a longtime resident of Stoughton, passed away peacefully at home on September 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Louis J. Zadra for 65 years. Daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Krull) Mistiszyn, she was born and raised in Freeland, Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of Freeland High School, Freeland, PA and received her RN (Registered Nurse) at the Hazelton Pennsylvania State Hospital School of Nursing. Along with her husband Lou, also from Freeland, PA, Rose moved several times up the East Coast from Pennsylvania to Connecticut before settling in Stoughton in 1972. She was a registered nurse at the Goddard Memorial Hospital in Stoughton, MA and the Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton, MA for many years before retiring at age 65. Rose and Lou were active in the Model A Restorers Club of Massachusetts located in Foxborough, MA. Rose’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Rose is survived by her children, Lawrence J. Zadra and his wife Lynda of Laguna Hills, CA, Clara R. Cahalane of Stoughton, MA, Rose Marie Vaglica and her husband John of Bonita Springs, FL, Louis J. Zadra III of Natick, MA. Preceding her in death was her daughter Carol M. Zadra. Rose is also survived by her grandchildren, Katelyn and her husband DJ Todesco, Heather, Christopher, Brian, Dylan and Louis IV and her great-grandchildren, twins, Violet and Via. She was the sister of Dolores Dremock of Freeland, PA and her late brothers Michael and Nicholas Mistiszyn also of Freeland, PA.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Monday, September 8, 2025 at 10:30 AM. The Zadra family will receive visitors at Immaculate Conception Church prior to the Mass beginning at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose‘s memory may be made to Faith & Family Hospice located at 420 Lakeside Avenue, Suite 203, Marlborough, MA 01752. Phone: (508) 485-4555.
