Rose (Addabbo) Zappala, 95, of Solvay, passed away Friday November 24, 2023 at St. Camillus. Rose was born in Solvay to the late Pietro and Libera (Valentino) Addabbo in 1928 and was a graduate of Solvay High School. She worked as an Assembler at G.E. and in General Services at Chase Lincoln Bank for several years before retiring in 1991. She was a member of Solvay Seniors, Chase Retirees Club, Crucible Retirees and was a lifelong communicant of St. Cecilia Church in Solvay.
She was predeceased by her husband, Michael in 1984 along with her siblings, Joseph and Frank Addabbo, Elizabeth Latimer, Lucy Waters and Mary Brady.
Rose is survived by her children, Kathleen (Robert) Lesic, of Solvay, Michael (Debra), of Solvay, Joseph (Patti), of Syracuse, Thomas, of Syracuse and Mary Lynn (Brian) Sharp, of Pennelleville; 10 grandchildren, Jacquelyn (Chris) Musengo, Dr. Jennifer Lesic (Andrew Rynkiewicz), Anthony (Kathy) and Micha Zappala, Chalen Taylor, Paulina (Matt) Hargarther, Bryan (Laura), Nathan (Nicole) and David (Maddie) Sayre and Jake Sharp, 8 great grandchildren, her brother, Michael Addabbo, of Syracuse and many nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to express their deep appreciation to Debra Zappala for her kindness and service towards their mother.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Ave, Solvay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 AM Thursday, November 30, 2023 at St. Marianne Cope Parish-St. Cecilia Church, 1001 Woods Rd, Solvay. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, DeWitt.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Marianne Cope Parish Food Pantry, 105 Stanton Ave, Solvay, NY 13209.
