Roseann Bock was born on August 17, 1939, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Cecil and Claudia Reno. She was raised alongside her younger sister, Linda. Shortly after Roseann’s birth, the family moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where Roseann attended Lillis High School. Upon graduation, she began her professional career with Procter & Gamble and later worked as a claims adjuster for Principal Casualty Insurance Co.
Roseann met the love of her life, Charles “Charlie” Bock, at a St. Patrick’s Day party. They shared a devoted and loving marriage for 61 years. Roseann is survived by Charlie and their three children: Cindy (husband Brent), Brian (wife Rebecca), and Debbie (husband David).
Roseann and Charlie made their home in Kansas City until 2009, when they relocated to O’Fallon, Missouri to be closer to their youngest daughter Debbie and her family.
An avid reader, Roseann could often be found seeking out a new paperback or an audiobook at the library. She had a deep love for flowers and gardening and especially cherished watching hummingbirds during the summer months. She delighted in British comedies and murder mysteries and had an appreciation for shrimp and barbecue. Her family will miss her pineapple upside-down cake, olives she had out with every family dinner and her delicious stuffed artichokes.
Faith was central to Roseann’s life. She generously volunteered her time at church over the years, singing in the choir and assisting with parish mailings. She considered her greatest accomplishment to be raising a strong Catholic family and ensuring that all her children received a Catholic education.
Roseann will be remembered for her beautiful smile, loving nature, positive spirit, and contagious energy. She was immensely proud of and deeply devoted to her grandchildren—Megan, Aidan, Kate, Joey, Rachel, Sebastian, Becca, Samantha, and Niles—and her great-grandchildren Emilee, Paolo, Luca, Aria, Kara, and Ella.
A service celebrating Roseann’s life will be held on Thursday, January 15, at noon in the Chapel at Immaculate Conception Dardenne Prairie Church, 7701 State Route N, Dardenne Prairie, Missouri 63368.
